What is low-level laser hair therapy?
Low-level laser therapy, sometimes shortened to LLLT, is a light-based hair-loss option. The American Academy of Dermatology describes studies suggesting benefit for some hair-loss concerns, while explaining that repeated sessions are needed. It does not mean everyone will regrow hair.
Hair-loss laser therapy has a different purpose from laser hair removal. When making an enquiry, say that you want to discuss thinning hair or scalp coverage, rather than an aesthetic hair-reduction appointment.
Ask why laser therapy is being considered for you
Bring a timeline of the changes you have noticed, any previous assessment and a list of products or treatments you currently use. Ask what explanation the practitioner is working with and whether a GP or specialist opinion is needed first.
A useful conversation should connect the recommendation to your own concern. Ask which alternatives were considered, what improvement would count as worthwhile for you, and how a decision to stop or change the plan would be made.
Compare the whole course, including reviews
HLC lists laser hair therapy among its treatment pathways. Confirm the current Brick Lane arrangements with the team rather than assuming that every advertised timetable applies to your appointment.
- Which device and treatment plan would be used?
- How many visits are proposed, and when is progress reviewed?
- Are products or follow-up appointments included in the quote?
- What are the limitations and possible unwanted effects?
- What happens if you decide not to continue?
Ask for a total course price and a clear explanation of any later costs. A session price alone does not show the complete budget.
